Car Ferries

Portsmouth to Fishbourne, Southampton to East Cowes and Lymington to Yarmouth car ferries, The Havelock has trade accounts with both Wightlink and Red Funnel. As prices fluctuate according to the times, date and availability, we are happy to quote the best price on the day of booking for your return ferry travel. Car ferry tickets will be sent to your home address (if booked with Wightlink less than 14 days prior to travel, the tickets will need to be collected from the ticket office on arrival at the relevant terminal).

Balcony Rooms

The two balcony rooms are spacious - each has a king size bed, a single bed and lovely sea views, one has a shower en-suite and the other has a bathroom en-suite. There is a supplement of £10.00 per person per night, but is not applicable to children when sharing with two adults.

Superior Rooms

The two Superior rooms both have a king size bed and lovely sea views, one has a shower en-suite and the other has a shower over the bath in the en-suite. There is a supplement of £5.00 per person per night.

Sea -view Rooms

We have five standard double rooms, one twin room, all with en-suite & sea views. There is a supplement of £2.00 per person per night.

Non Sea-view Rooms

We have six standard double rooms, two family rooms with a double and single bed (also used as twin rooms), three single rooms (one on the ground floor) and one family suite which accommodates two adults and two children which has it's own access to the swimming pool, again all rooms are en-suite.

Single Occupancy for Double Rooms

If you require a double room for single occupancy, please state at the time of booking and if available we will quote you a price.

Childrens Rates

Age 5–14yrs - £20.00 per day, when sharing a family room with two adults. Children aged 14+ at the full adult rate, or if sharing with one adult only.

Smoking

We have a strict 'no smoking' policy, which falls in line with current Government laws. However, we do allow smoking on the front terrace of the hotel and around the pool at the rear.

Methods of Payment

We accept payment by Sterling and all major credit/debit cards (not American Express). If you wish to pay by cheque we will require full settlement two weeks prior to arrival. Cheques to be made payable to 'The Havelock (Shanklin) Ltd'.

Deposits - All reservations must be confirmed with the payment of a deposit

Bed & Breakfast only – a non-returnable deposit of £40.00 per person is required on booking.

Car ferry + Bed & Breakfast – a non-returnable deposit of £50.00 per person is required on booking.

For a one night stay, full payment will be required at the time of booking.

VAT is included and charged at the current rates.

Breakfast is served from 8:30am – 9:30am. Local produce is used where available and we always serve free range eggs. By prior arrangement a continental style breakfast can be provided from 7:30am.

Check-in time is strictly from 1:30 pm on day of arrival and check-out time is 10:30am on day of departure, unless otherwise agreed.

The outdoor swimming pool is usually open and heated from mid-May to mid-September only, however this is dependent on the weather conditions and at the discretion of the proprietors.

The hotel is centrally heated and double glazed, with digital colour TVs, hairdryers and tea & coffee making facilities in all rooms.

Drinks & light meals are available between 12 – 5pm daily.

Evening bar service from 6pm – 11pm (10:30pm on Sundays).

Due to our own allergies we regret that we cannot accept pets.

Free car park. Guests using The Havelock's private car park do so at their own risk.

Cancellation or Curtailment

Our insurance brokers have negotiated a comprehensive cover against your incurred liability to 'The Havelock (Shanklin) Ltd' in respect of the deposit and hotel bill. We recommend that you take insurance cover, in the event of cancellation through death, illness, redundancy etc., for you or members of your family.

We do this because the law states: When accommodation has been booked and letters of acceptance exchanged, both the client and 'The Havelock' have entered a legally binding contract. In the event of cancellation both parties should endeavour to re-let the accommodation, should they not succeed the person making the reservation is legally liable to pay up to 75% of the total room rate for the period we are unable to re-let. Cancellation within 24hours, 100% will be charged. All deposits are non-returnable. If required, please ask for an insurance proposal form at the time of booking and it will be sent with your confirmation letter.

No allowances will be made for meals not taken, for late arrivals or early departures.
